We Make Sense Like This

Growing up with a twin sister was the greatest blessing my parents could’ve given me. Twins have a lot of shared experiences, and share a lot of similarities whether that be physical appearance, or personality. But what about the twins that don’t follow these ‘norms’? In my personal experience of being a fraternal twin, as my sister and I have grown up into adults, we’ve both grown into separate individuals. But this has not and will never affect the quality of our relationship to one another.

“We Make Sense Like This” is a short film that explores and breaks the notion of “sameness” that is stereotypically placed on twins. This film is curated through old home videos of my family including my twin sister, my mom and my dad. I was able to create and tell my story of being a twin through these home videos, while also pulling interviews from family members that have watched us grow up. With this, I was able to highlight the beauty in my sister and I’s differences, and expand on how our uniqueness has been beautifully interwoven into the story of lives.
