Tara is a San Francisco based artist that grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana.\u00a0 After serving in the U.S. Navy, she attended the University of San Francisco where she found her art style and themes that her work would ultimately focus on. The themes of death, politics, religion and anti-patriarchal ideology that her work is based on came from experiences of growing up a girl in a small conservative town and her time serving in the Navy. Both experiences showed her the way society WANTS her to act and furthermore her refusal to submit to the societal expectations of women.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This installation explores the themes of relationships, death, and the mystery of what comes after we die. Each of these artworks explores different ideas of what comes after we die, representing reincarnation, Heaven and Hell, and Hades. Each piece varies in size with the largest representing what I hope and believe is what comes after we die. Since becoming a mother my fear of death isn\u2019t so much about death itself but leaving my daughter behind and how she will feel when the time for me to pass on comes. Not knowing what is next but wanting my love for her to transcend space and time and to meet her again in whatever comes after this life is a major inspiration for this artwork. One artwork is based on a poem I wrote in a creative writing class fall semester 2024 titled \u201c My Little Love\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

<\/span>Maybe we\u2019ll be your favorite fish in our next life
<\/span>Unburdened by concepts of life and death

<\/span>Either way, I\u2019ll see you at every beginning and every end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
