The Department of Art & Architecture class of 2024 included thirty Design and Fine Arts students who finished their college career by completing individually driven, ambitious thesis projects that synthesized what they learned throughout their time at USF. Students enter this capstone course in their final year, after learning a wide array of skills, techniques, and possibilities in art and design. Through a rigorous ideation, research, writing, production, and presentation process, students realize a long term project based on their own unique perspectives and interests. The final results of their thesis process were displayed in the annual exhibition of projects by graduating seniors in the Design and Fine Arts programs at SOMArts gallery in San Francisco. The title of the exhibition, Asterisk, implies that there is a footnote, a wildcard, or an omission to be found elsewhere, an appropriate title for a group of talented and driven students who will continue on in their creative careers each in their own unique ways.
