I chose this emoji as a title because I believe that we understand things around the world through language and pictures. This emoji represents the idea of presenting a message through both text and imagery, showing how we perceive the world differently from various perspectives.
This project began with me observing my surroundings and identifying things that caught my attention, such as languages, colors, and shapes, which influence the development of my personality. Initially, my idea was to explore the differences between Japanese and English words with the same translated meaning but interpreted differently by different people. This concept then evolved into the main idea of the project.
The focus of this project is to collect data in various ways from different people because I am interested in understanding how individuals perceive the world differently. The core idea comes from the telephone game, so throughout the process, I gather a sequence of elements from people around me to create this piece, representing the idea that we are all shaped by our surroundings.
There is no right or wrong way to interpret the world. So, be yourself! We are all unique!
