I am a designer from Petaluma based in San Francisco, CA. I mainly work in photography, classical art, and digital art. Growing up so close to the city and the sea has inspired me to create works with a focus on nature and people. I hope to create works that inspire
and connect others.
Utilizing double exposed film, a technique in photography to overlay images, I set out to capture commonly less exposed features. Inspired by film cameras that were used to capture my childhood, and with the rising trend of body positivity in social media. I wanted to expand my audience’s view to the more intimate features each participant is uncomfortable with. The idea behind this project is to bring to light features and feelings of displeasure that aren’t commonly talked about in the public eye.
With the promotion of body positivity on social media, I became captivated by the lack of documentation regarding the process. There was representation of overcoming self hatred or insecurity, but never any explanation of what it takes to get there. This project is exactly that, a representation of the process it takes to love oneself and a moment of exposure for us to see.
