ສັດໃນປະເທດລາວ / Animals in Laos is an illustrated bilingual Lao-English children’s book. The book follows nine endangered animals native to Laos and explains facts about them. My research comes from non-profit organizations that work in wildlife conservation in Laos. The book features fun colorful illustrations to highlight various unique characteristics of the animal related to the facts. My goal with this project is to provide educational material for children who are part of the Lao-American community, which is largely underrepresented. The book provides an opportunity to learn both Lao and English while learning about a pertinent issue in Laos. This book ultimately centers the Lao language and Laos itself.
